The first-ever retail green bond issue in Slovakia, focused on investments in water infrastructure. The bonds are issued by Východoslovenská vodárenská spoločnosť Dlhopisový program, a. s., while the guarantor is Východoslovenská vodárenská spoločnosť, a. s., the largest water utility company in Slovakia.
The bonds will also be listed and traded on the Bratislava Stock Exchange. VODA SPIEVA Green Bonds were available for purchase at Slovenská sporiteľňa, a. s.
VODA SPIEVA Green Bonds comply with the ICMA Green Bond Principles standard. This fact, with the resulting SQS score of “very good,” was confirmed by an independent assessment (a so-called Second Party Opinion) issued by Moody’s, a renowned company belonging to the “Big Three” global credit rating agencies.
VODA SPIEVA Green Bonds provide a 5% annual return. The investments are intended for the modernisation of water infrastructure in Slovakia, allowing investors to contribute to improving quality of life in the country.
The green bond issuance was intended for the general public in Slovakia. For Východoslovenská vodárenská spoločnosť, a. s., Slovenská sporiteľňa is a trusted partner. That is also why the green bonds were offered primarily through Slovenská sporiteľňa.
The investment allows people to directly support projects that help Slovakia.

A green bond is a bond whose proceeds are used exclusively to finance environmentally beneficial projects. In the case of VODA SPIEVA Green Bonds, the investments will support water infrastructure projects in Slovakia.

Východoslovenská vodárenská spoločnosť, a.s. has maintained a long-standing and successful partnership with Slovenská sporiteľňa, a.s., which is why investors were able to purchase VODA SPIEVA Green Bonds through Slovakia’s largest bank.
